A Month of Thresholds


September carries a unique energy. It represents endings and new beginning as it channels the closing of summer’s brightness and the opening of autumn’s quieter, steadier rhythm.


The days shorten, the air cools, and nature begins its slow transformation. This shift is an invitation to reflect on the changes that have taken root and are now ready to be harvested.


The Turning Point


While summer often encourages outward energy — activity, travel, long days in the sun — September gently calls us inward. It’s a time for recalibration, for bringing forth what has grown during the year so far while letting go of what no longer resonates with your journey.


Nature's Wisdom


Look closely and you’ll notice how nature models balance during this month. Leaves shift gradually, fruits ripen, animals prepare for the colder months. Nothing is rushed, and yet everything unfolds with purpose. September reminds us that slowing down doesn’t mean standing still; it means moving with intention.


How to Embrace September’s Energy


These are simple ways to align with the energy of this season, which have a direct positive impact on the mind and the body, enabling you to navigate the shorter and colder days, and aiding nervous system self-regulation.


  • Pause and Reflect: Take time to acknowledge what you’ve accomplished so far. Taking time to journal on your year, helps you expand your self-awareness, acknowledge your efforts, and sustain the results over time;

  • Simplify: "Less is more"; embrace the slower pace of early Autumn to attune your circadian rhythm to the unfolding changes the month brings; make space for pause and mindful breathing during your day, to disconnect, recharge then flow with your day;

  • Spend Time in Nature: Even brief walks can ground you in the present and help you notice the subtler shifts occurring within you as you walk through the month;

  • Set Intentions for the month: Think of them as seeds you’re planting now, to be nurtured over the coming months.


September opens the door to autumn with a quiet sense of purpose. It’s a reminder that change is a natural part of the journey, and growth often happens in the spaces between.


By leaning into the energy of this month, you can move into autumn not only prepared, but also inspired by the wisdom nature carries.
